Complete Guide to Identifying the Correct Tap Spindle
Selecting the correct spindle is essential for smooth operation and leak-free performance. Since many taps look identical externally, correct identification requires a structured approach.
๐ Follow the steps in order and always compare product images before placing your order.
Step 1: Identify the Tap Brand
Check for the brand name on:
- Top of the tap handle
- Tap body
- Faceplate (wall-mounted taps)
Common brands: Jaquar, Parryware, Ess Ess, Crabtree, Cera, Hindware
Identifying the brand greatly improves spindle matching accuracy and should always be
your first step.
Step 2: Identify the Exact Spindle Type
2.1 Check the Lower Section
-
Black rubber ring:
Rising Spindle (rubber ring may be missing due to wear) -
White/Brown ceramic disc:
Ceramic Spindle
2.2 Check the Head Shape
- Square knurling
- Star knurling
2.3 Search Using All Parameters
Brand Name + Star/Square + Rising/Ceramic + Spindle
Example: Crabtree Star Rising Spindle
If multiple results appear, measure the central diameter and match it
with the product listing.
Step 3: If Brand-Based Search Fails
Some spindles are shared across multiple brands. If no results appear, use the Multi-Company Identification Method below.
Multi-Company Spindle Identification
Step 1: Identify Spindle Category
